The 20th annual meeting of the AG Mündlichkeit took place from 5 to 7 February 2026 in Hofgeismar. The aim of the conference was to bring together selected positions in German didactics oral communication research, to take stock of the current state of research and to discuss key perspectives for the further development of the field. It became clear that in recent years, this field of research has established itself as an independent subfield of German language teaching and has become more differentiated. The conference thus not only highlighted the current state of research, but also specified tasks for future research and transfer within the AG Mündlichkeit.
