This article reports on the key findings and discussion points from the conference Emotionen im Deutschunterricht – Förderkonzepte für sprachliches und literarisches Lernen (Emotions in German lessons – concepts for linguistic and literary learning). The conference took place on 10th October 2025, at the University of Kassel and brought together German didactics experts from various disciplines. The occasion for the conference was the end of the BMBF-funded joint project Fühlen – Denken – Sprechen in der Grundschule (FDS-G) (feeling – thinking – speaking in primary school) which invited in-depth dialogue and further interdisciplinary exchange. The question of the role of emotions and the possibilities of promoting emotion-related learning in linguistic and literary learning processes was at the centre of the joint research interest. The varied conference programme offered insights into numerous research projects on this topic, including various doctoral projects as well as projects from the same BMBF funding line (ADIL and SEM).
